There wasn’t a day that a person with a camera was following the family around. As the daughter of a well-known CEO and Olympia, Shecanna was pushed to her limits to make her parents proud. While her brother and sister were the golden children, following horse riding and money-making like their parents – Shecanna wanted to break from that life. Running was her calling, as she found the freedom of it refreshing. While she wanted to do track and marathons, her father guilted her out of continuing track in school. She was forced to attend riding school to follow in her mother’s footsteps, as she would be written out of the will if she didn’t. Not wanting to lose her possible inheritance, Shecanna did as she was told. She excelled in the sport, especially cross country jumping, the same thing her mother entered the Olympics in. During her riding days, she ended up doing things she shouldn’t have. Enhancers and near abusive training were involved for her and her horses, something her parents paid hush money for. They didn’t care about her happiness or the health of her horses. During a day at the barn, a barn fire happened from a careless smoker. Shecanna was stuck in the barn, as a beam had caught her left leg, breaking it past any kind of surgical reconstruction. It ended her career, prompting her parents to hide the fact they had a middle child. Recovery was hard and being shunned from the family – Shecanna was a lost soul. Her grandparents took her in, helping her recover in their home in the town of Hickstead. The silence and slower pace of life were welcomed.
